It’s time I take direct action and helped my Brothers and Sisters.

Rahsaan Barker grew up in the Bay Area and graduated High School in Newark, CA. From an early age he knew that traditional schooling was not a good fit for him. He preferred to work at his own pace and focus on subjects he was interested in. Because of this he did not pursue college, opting instead to take an indirect route into IT.
That indirect route started in High School with Rahsaan attending a Regional Occupational Program and starting basic systems administration for the school. Shortly after graduating High School Rahsaan joined the United States Marine Corps where he would extend his IT knowledge into network security. After honorably serving in the Marine Corps, Rahsaan would go on to focus on Storage Area Networks for private corporations and the Department of Defense. Rahsaan is currently a Senior SAN Engineer on the Engineering Resolution Team Lead for Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Rahsaan has 2 children. Lily is 19 and is an artist and works as a metal fabricator. Riley is 5 and attends a Montessori school and is all about unicorns and mermaids.
The idea of Rescue + Residence is something that Rahsaan wanted to see someone do and he is very proud to be a part of this organization. Living in San Diego the impact of homelessness can be seen in virtually every area of the city. Being in a position to make a difference with his problem solving skills and willingness to find creative solutions is something he is looking forward to.
Rahsaan hopes you will join us in giving back to those that served this country
